A first for everything.

We celebrate our loved ones birthdays on a yearly basis. This time is distinguised as a milestone-whether young or what we consider old. As a society, we have even deemed some birthdays more imporant than others. This weekend was one of those moments--a first birthday of our nephew Raymond James Hansen! Family, friends, presents, food and drinks all come together for one purpose--to show a 1 year old that they are by far the most imporant person in the world for a three to four stint. Now, Ray may have not fully understood what was going on but that is where the beauty of pictures and video comes in to save the day. I should've have purchased a red carpet for Ray to stand/sit/crawl on because of the vast amount of photographs being taken of him. He was Mr. Hollywood for sure.

I am truly blessed to have the relationship I have with my brother and Bekah. They truly set the bar high for Jamie and I when it comes to parenting. They work as a team and they have built such a beautiful "home" for their little guy. The vibrations of laughter and the warmth of affection was all around on Saturday. It was a site to truly see as Ray's eyes got so big when he saw the big blue teddy bear Grandma Hansen got him. Or maybe it was the way he waved his arms up and down when he started playing the xylophone that Grandpa Greg got him. It was exciting to watch the combination of excitement and confusion in his face. A joyful moment.

Mom, Dad and Ray all ready to get his #1 cake delievered!!

Excuse the fact that you can't see Jamie very well. But we were all together for a family portrait!

Whether it is a first birthday, a golden one or maybe a 75th birthday---the love that is formed on a single day, in a single room is something that we should all celebrate!
And remember.....always make a wish!

Love,
